Bebe Rexha responds to Azealia Banks’ remarks about her physique by sharing her devastating pregnancy loss.

After receiving body-shaming remarks from rapper Azealia Banks following her appearance at the Met Gala, Bebe Rexha has spoken out about her devastating pregnancy loss.

On Monday night (May 5), the 35-year-old singer made her debut at the 2025 Met Gala. She looked magnificent in a dramatic tulle skirt and a curve-hugging Christian Siriano gown.

The renowned fashion event’s topic, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” aligned with the museum’s spring 2025 exhibition, which delves into “the Black dandy as both a concept and an identity signifier.”

“Dandyism reminds me of structured jackets,” Rexha remarked in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. She also lauded Siriano, saying he “always nails the assignment” and “always makes me look good.

‘I’m Good’ singer shared a picture of herself with the remark, “My first Met Gala,” to commemorate her participation on Instagram.

However, that enthusiasm soon gave way to agony as a swarm of internet trolls started disparaging her looks. One especially nasty remark from 33-year-old musician Azealia Banks caused a lot of anger.

“Sis gives me a hormonal birth control implant or something,” Banks said on X, adding, “I’m not even trying to play her. It’s giving me implanon/nuvaring that needs to be removed or depo shot that needs to stop happening.”

Rexha retaliated and revealed the intensely private cause of her weight fluctuations in a since-deleted post that was covered by Page Six.

She commented, “I’m so sick of people making remarks about my weight.” “I battle infertility and have PCOS [polycystic ovary syndrome].”

PCOS is a hormone-related condition that results in infertility, acne, excessive hair growth, and irregular menstrual cycles.

In the essay, Rexha went on to disclose an even more heartbreaking reality: “I got pregnant, and it didn’t work out, and I’ve been carrying that pain in silence.” Although I never owed anyone the truth, perhaps you will reconsider making remarks about someone else’s physique now.

With a scathing dose of candor, Rexha responded to Banks directly, saying, “And you might wanna jump on some type of therapy, sis.” “Lexapro was very effective for me.”

Something that alleviates the underlying disarray and melancholy you continue to portray. Everyone looks terrific after healing. “Try it,” she said.

Fans showered Rexha with love and grief after she revealed the date of the pregnancy loss and the identity of the father. “I’m sad about your baby’s passing. Sincere condolences,” one supporter said.

Others shifted their focus to Banks and demanded responsibility. It is impossible to know what someone else is going through. It was bad of Azealia to post this. One individual remarked, “Comment on the fashion, not the person’s body shame or physical appearance.”

Another person asked, “She should be banned immediately. Why is she body shaming people?” You really are a hater, don’t you? A third wrote, “As decent humans, we should support one another, not undermine one another.”

Rexha took to social media again shortly after, writing: “Okay, I’m going to go enjoy my day now. Enjoy your day; you are loved by all.
