Neapolitan Ice Cream

Ingredients:

For the Ice Cream Base:

  • 600 ml whipping cream
  • 400 ml condensed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch of salt

For the Chocolate Layer:

  • 100 g dark chocolate (70% cocoa or preferred)
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

For the Strawberry Layer:

  • 200 g fresh or frozen strawberries
  • 2 tbsp sugar (optional, adjust to taste)

Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Ice Cream Base

  1. Whip the cream – In a large bowl, beat the whipping cream with an electric mixer until thick and smooth (avoid overbeating to prevent a buttery texture).
  2. Mix with condensed milk – In a separate bowl, combine condensed milk, vanilla extract, and salt. Gently fold this into the whipped cream until fully incorporated.

Step 2: Make the Chocolate Layer

  1. Melt the chocolate – Using a double boiler or microwave (in 30-second intervals), melt the dark chocolate until smooth.
  2. Add cocoa powder – Stir in the cocoa powder until well blended.
  3. Combine with ice cream base – Mix the chocolate mixture into  of the ice cream base until evenly combined.

Step 3: Make the Strawberry Layer

  1. Blend strawberries – Puree the strawberries in a blender. If they’re tart, add sugar to taste.
  2. Combine with ice cream base – Fold the strawberry puree into another  of the ice cream base.

Step 4: Assemble & Freeze

  1. Layer in a mold – In a rectangular container or loaf pan, alternate layers:
    • Vanilla (remaining plain base)
    • Chocolate
    • Strawberry
      (Use a spoon to gently smooth each layer without overmixing.)
  2. Freeze – Cover and freeze for at least 6 hours or until firm.
  3. Serve – Slice or scoop and enjoy!
