Ingredients:

For the Cake
Ingredient Quantity
Yellow Cake Mix 1 box
Coconut Pecan Frosting 1 container
Oil ⅔ cup
Water 1 cup
Large Eggs 4
Pecans, finely chopped ½ cup
For the Praline Topping
Ingredient Quantity
Unsalted Butter 2 tbsp
Sweetened Condensed Milk 14 oz. can
Pecans, chopped 1 cup

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Cake Batter: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, oil, eggs, water, and the entire container of coconut pecan frosting. Beat with an electric mixer until the batter is smooth and well combined.
  2. Add Pecans to Batter: Gently fold in the ½ cup of finely chopped pecans into the cake batter.
  3. Bake Cake: Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish thoroughly. Pour the cake batter evenly into the prepared dish. Bake for 40 minutes, or until a wooden skewer or toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  4. Make Praline Topping: While the cake is still warm from the oven, prepare the topping. In a small pot or saucepan, combine the unsalted butter and sweetened condensed milk over medium heat. Stir continuously until the butter has completely melted and the mixture is smooth and heated through.
  5. Finish Topping: Remove the pot from the heat and immediately stir in the 1 cup of chopped pecans.
  6. Assemble & Serve: Pour the warm praline topping mixture evenly over the warm cake, spreading it gently with a spatula.

Serve your Pecan Praline Cake warm and enjoy this delightfully sweet and nutty dessert! What’s your favorite type of cake that’s elevated by a special topping?
